Can my child wear the necklace while sleeping and bathing?
For safety reasons we recommend the necklace is worn only during periods of supervision and should not be worn during sleeping or bathing. However bracelets could be worn around the ankle and placed under socks or growsuit while sleeping.
Prolonged exposure of the amber to water may result in the thread becoming brittle, and to protect the natural qualities of the amber we recommend keeping it away from shampoo and soaps.
 
Who makes the amber jewellery?
Each Little Munchkins amber necklace and bracelet is handcrafted in the Baltic States by experienced craftsmen and are made from ancient Baltic Amber. Our amber jewellery is mainly sourced from a family business in Lithuania.
 
Can my newborn baby wear the necklace?
We recommend necklaces be worn as soon as the baby starts teething or showing any signs of pain or discomfort from teething. They look great on boys as well as girls, from teething age to approx age 4. Due to popular demand we now have a necklace for older children and have extended our range to include bracelets and necklaces for adults.
 
How long will my baby's necklace last?
The teething necklaces are specifically designed for use with babies, and are knotted in between each bead to prevent choking in the unlikely event of the necklace breaking. With the right care, the necklace will last a lifetime. Please ensure that it is placed under the child's clothing as the thread may break at the catch if tugged too hard by little fingers.
 
Can the necklace be chewed?
The necklace is made for wearing, and not for chewing, as the beads will quickly assume body temperature releasing oils into the skin. Ensure it is placed under the clothing and the child will ignore it. If your child is intent on chewing something, you should use additional teething aids such as Dr Bloom Chewable Jewels which can be worn by the parent and safetly chewed by the baby. How safe is the necklace?
To ensure the highest safety for wearers, all of our Little Munchkins infant amber necklaces are knotted between each amber bead, so should the necklace break only one bead will be released. Little Munchkins infant necklaces are also secured with a non-allergenic traditional screw clasp, not a hook and ring.
 
How does amber work for teething pain?
The skin's warmth releases healing oils from the amber, which is absorbed into the bloodstream. Baltic Amber's anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties are recognised by allopathic medicine as a natural analgesic. Why are there varying colours of amber beads?

What is your policy on returns or repairs?
We have a 7 day (from receipt of purchase) return policy in place for all damaged Little Munchkins amber necklaces and bracelets. Please contact us ASAP to arrange repairs. Please note repairs can take 4 - 8 weeks as they will be sent back to Europe for repair.
Teething Necklaces: To ensure the longevity of your necklace please ensure it is tucked under your infants clothing as we are unable to replace necklaces which have been damaged due too little fingers tugging at the beads.
 
My infant needs this urgently! How soon can it be delivered?
We post the jewellery as soon as payment is received so you may receive it within a couple of days from ordering. We also recognise the urgency of requirement when you have infants teething, so if you are based in Lower Hutt or Wellington (NZ), you may be able to pick it up or even have it delivered! Each teething necklace is supplied in a sealed plastic bag, which protects the beads from coming in to contact with other material/minerals, and comes with an informative information sheet.
